To introduce students, entrepreneurs, and teachers to the FBMC, I also offer two different free downloads:
Intro to the FBMC (3 pages)
Tour the FBMC (12 pages)
Note: To access both downloads, I ask you to sign up for my FBMC/ Feminist Business Newsletter. By signing up, you’re consenting to allow me to use your email address to send you updates when the FBMC is revised and to send you my occasional newsletter, which shares feminist business ideas as well as information about Feminist Business Workshops. I will not use your email address for any other purpose. Know that if you don’t want to receive FBMC updates or my newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time. Consent is a feminist issue (h/t Kelly Diels), so I want to be explicit about what I’m assuming and when you are consenting.
The first download is a three-page Intro to the FBMC (also known as the “teaching version”). This download offers the one-page template of the Canvas, filled in with the names and definitions of each section and element. Two additional pages repeat these definitions and offer one question to give you a sense of how you might define this element for your own business.
The goal of the Intro to the FBMC is to give folks a picture of the FBMC, so that you can compare it to other business model tools and get a sense of what the FBMC offers that’s unique. It’s not intended to be used to help you sketch out the very top line of your business idea. For that, you need the Tour of the FBMC. It’s also not intended to offer a complete introduction to the FBMC template, questions and process or to help you develop your business idea in full. For that, you need the FBMC Workbook or Workshops.
The second free download, Tour the FBMC, is a twelve page download that gives you a full sized blank Canvas, slightly longer discussions of each section and element, and one or two questions for each element.
The goal of the Tour of the FBMC is to give folks a chance to sketch out their current business idea and likely reveal a few insights from a feminist perspective. Again, this tool is not intended to help you develop your business idea in full or to offer a complete introduction to the FBMC template, questions and process. It’s really intended to give you enough information to decide whether you want to learn more about the FBMC in a Workshop and/or to purchase a full copy of the FMBC Workbook.
Once you download and explore any of the FBMC versions, I’d love to know what you think of them and how they are helpful to you — please reach out to me via email (cv@feministsatwork.com) with your feedback and questions.
